County Lawmakers Approve Creation of Part-Time Assistant DA Position

    Lowville, NY- After months of discussions at the Courts and Law legislative
    committee, Lewis County District Attorney Leanne Moser and county lawmakers
    reached a compromise on staffing levels with last night's approval from the full
    board of Lewis County Legislators for the creation of a part-time Assistant DA
    position.

    DA Moser has been requesting a second Assistant DA (ADA) since last spring,
    citing the increased case load her office has seen. Last month the DA and the
    Courts and Law committee reached a compromise, with both agreeing to
    recommend the addition of a part-time ADA. That motion was unanimously
    approved last night by all 10 legislators.
