Lowville- The Lewis County Clerk's office has announced that the county
    Department of Motor Vehicle office started new office hours on Monday, April
    4th.The new hours for computer transactions will be 7:30 AM  until 3:30 PM,
    the office is open until 4pm. This will be offered on a trial basis through
    September 30th.

    "I am hopeful that our customers  will take advantage of this new convenience,
    with warmer weather just around the corner, people will be registering their
    boats, campers, ATV’s and motorcycles," Lewis County Clerk Linda Hoskins
    said. "We would like customers to do business local rather than registering  
    online, as 12.7% of each transactions stays in Lewis County. This helps to
    keep our taxes down as this would mean more revenue for the County, if
    customers register online the State receives all of the revenue," she continued.

    Registrations can also be dropped off 24/7 in the one of the DMV drop boxes,
    one located by the front door of the DMV building  at 7049 State Route 12,
    Lowville and one located by the front door of the County Courthouse at 7660 N
    State Street, Lowville.

    Ms. Hoskins suggests if customers choose to mail using the pink envelope they
    receive with their registration renewals, that they please cross off the address,
    sign the back of the form and send it to: Lewis County Clerk’s Office, PO Box
    232, Lowville, NY  13367.  As always, any questions that customers have may
    be directed to our local DMV at (315) 376-5331.
