Lowville- The New York State Police arrested a Central Square man at 3:55 on Sunday afternoon after a traffic stop on East Main Street in the Village of Lowville. Kenneth J. Smith, 56, was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a class "E" felony; Following Too Close, an infraction; Failure to Keep Right, an infraction, and Refusal to Take a Breath Test, an infraction. He was being held at the Lewis County Jail on an undisclosed bail amount. No further details were provided. Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated is charged when a persons blood alcohol content is 0.18% or greater and carries harsher penalties upon conviction. |
