Port Leyden Man Charged by State Police After Domestic Dispute

    Port Leyden- The New York State Police, Lowville Station, made an arrest last
    night after a domestic dispute in the Village of Port Leyden. Few details were
    made available at this time, and the arrest status (whether arrestee was sent to
    jail or just issued appearance tickets) is unknown and not included in the arrest
    report.

    What we do know is that Mark D, Schermehorn, 39, of Port Leyden is facing a
    number of charges following the incident that occurred just before 9 PM, Friday.
    Troopers charged Mr. Schermehorn with one count of Criminal Obstruction of
    Breathing, a class "A misdemeanor; one count of Criminal Mischief- Intent to
    Damage Property, a class "A" misdemeanor; one count of second degree
    Harassment, a violation; and four counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child,
    a class "A" misdemeanor.
