| Tug Hill Commission Executive Director to Retire 06/16/15 10:50am |
Tug Hill- The following press release was issued by the Tug Hill Commission regarding the upcoming retirement of the Executive Director. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 15, 2015 Contact: Jan Bogdanowicz, Chairman (315) 785-2380
NYS Tug Hill Commission Chairman Jan Bogdanowicz announced today that Executive Director John K. Bartow, Jr., is retiring from the Tug Hill Commission and State service effective the end of July. Mr. Bartow has served as the Commission's Executive Director since 2004. His previous work experience included many years at the NYS Department of State, both in their Local Government and Coastal Resources Divisions. During his tenure the Commission celebrated its 40th anniversary, grew attendance at its annual Local Government Conference to over 700, and worked closely with the three Regional Economic Development Councils that each include portions of Tug Hill. "John served the Commission and the Tug Hill Region extremely well for over a decade, and his leadership and energy will be missed," Mr. Bogdanowicz stated. "We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors and thank him for his service to the Region." The Commission is now beginning the process to hire a new Executive Director. In its 42-year history, the Commission has been fortunate to have only three Executive Directors, all of whom left the Commission upon their retirement from the State. Bogdanowicz emphasized that "The Tug Hill Region is a unique area of New York State and the Commission provides critical services to its 61 rural towns and villages. Finding a dedicated person who can forward our mission of 'Helping local officials and citizens shape the future of Tug Hill' is of the utmost importance to myself and all the Commissioners."
